Booking rules & booking sheets…
Published on 10th January 2019 in UncategorizedAll,
Despite plenty of warning and much discussion, we have still seen members pulling out at the last minute (in one case about 15 minutes before the tee time) and leaving their fellow members in the lurch. I’m sure you’d all agree that this behaviour is not only very selfish, but is completely unacceptable in a Club.
As the result of these continued last minute cancellations and no-shows – the Committee have chosen to re-inforce the rules that have fallen by the wayside over recent times:
If you fail to show, and have not cancelled your booking prior to 7PM the evening before competition, without good cause, a penalty will be imposed.
- First offence will be an official ⚠️ warning – and a few have already gone out
- Second offence – a 14 day suspension from all YGC competitions
If you are late for your allotted tee time by less than 5 minutes, a two stroke penalty applies to your first hole – provided your group has not completed the hole. Please advise the Pro Shop you are running late. (Match play = loss of hole). If your group have completed hole then you will be disqualified from the competition.
If you alter your tee time, by moving forward and teeing off early – be it one player or more, without approval from Committee or your booked playing group) – you may be disqualified from that competition.
**** The booking sheet will be closed (to booking changes only and can still be opened to check your tee times) at 7PM the night before that day’s competition, and any late changes must be made by contacting the Match Committee, President or Pro-Shop who will also note the reason for the change.
*** Early notification of your intention to pull out of the following day’s competition will allow the system time to notify those on the waiting list if they have secured a spot..
So, it is recommended that if you are uncertain regarding the weather forecast – cancel you booking before 7PM the night before – and if it turns out to be a nice day, or not as hot as you thought; simply re-book into an available time slot through the Pro-shop.
This will allow those on the waiting list to play, with sufficient notice – and will not leave members stranded without a playing partner.
*Note: as always, exceptional circumstances will be taken into consideration (eg; kidnapped by Russian mafia types, carjacked by youth gangs, family emergency…. but not “I might get wet” or “I felt like playing at Mandalay”)
** Note: An EARLIEST tee time has been negotiated with Belgravia to enable the ground staff time to adequately prepare the course – without needing to do so by spotlight – and therefore reducing the risk of damage resulting from poor lighting. This also means everyone plays the same course, with the same conditions and pin placements. This time of 6:32AM applies on Wed, Sat and Sundays.
** No group is to tee off before the earliest competition booking slot ratified by the Committee – this may result in disqualification form the competition.
As stated, some members have already received their first warning – please be considerate of your fellow members and do not be the first member to lose playing rights.
