A perfect day at Whittlesea GC for the 4th round of Seniors Pennant. Yarrambat Black v Heidelberg Red, with high expectations as we sit on top of Div. 2 ladder and pride at stake, a formidable opponent stood in our way and indeed they did.
The competition was hot with both opponents trading blows, leads changing as the pressure was being applied. It was a grind but in the end Captain Des, Shayne and Ishi fought to the death by squaring their matches.
The ever-consistent Miki Di V cruised to victory winning 4/3.
Gilbert, Cath and Peter D. had close losses while Tommy wished he stayed in bed.
We played good competitive golf against a strong side while showing that our consistency is growing.
Well done team.

Could not ask for a better day for a game of golf however our expectations were denied for this round.
The golf course was in its driest condition that I have ever seen. However, that is not an excuse, just an observation.
The name of the game at this golf course is to place your drive on the correct side as there are plenty of water holes and dog legs.
The team finished up with 4 losses, 3 Halves and one win.
With the exception of one result most games went the full eighteen holes but for today it was not to be.
Our final round next week at Box Hill means the Yarrambat Blacks will have to rally to secure a final birth.Well done by all.
Des Borg
Vice Captain
Yarrambat Blues
In Week 4 at Whittlesea against the Box Hill Mustangs the Yarrambat Blue team got oh so close but unfortunately no cigar.
2 wins, 3 losses and 3 squares. While never looking for excuses some of us certainly took a while to adjust to some wet and soggy greens. It was the first time at Whittlesea for a number of our players and all were impressed with a very picturesque country course.
Holes 1 and 4 are particularly breath-taking given their undulation and challenge to play around the giant lake on the 4th.
Lunch has become a highlight for the Blue team and this was no exception. A choice of beer battered fish and chips or a home cooked style lasagne really hit the mark in very impressive club rooms. Unfortunately, no chocolate bar stories this week.
We are pretty positive heading into our last match on March 7 at Box Hill with the team seemingly peaking at the right time, we certainly can only go up the ladder from here.
