VGA Pennant R3
Published on 23rd March 2022 in UncategorizedOn Sunday the team and entourage trekked across town, to the ‘sandbelt’ region to take on Melton Valley at Cheltenham. This was to be a pivotal game, Melton had lost the first two rounds 3&4 and were looking to chalk up a win, and having only lost by a small margin with a number of extra holes matches, they were shaping as a dangerous opponent.
We had a 12:35 tee time, which guaranteed a late afternoon finish, and with no practice facilities at Cheltenham – the team spread out across the Bayside area to find;
- the best bakery for breakfast,
- a driving range [with grass], and
- the Cheltenham GC course entrance!
Having warmed up and sated their appetites (with no smashed avo to be seen!) the team assembled to face Melton Valley.
Brock, Darren, Jas and Calvin were in good form and had solid wins, Daniel was stiff to go one down on the 18th while Alex and Aaron were only slightly off their games and paid the price.
Sitting on top of the ladder we head over to Melbourne Airport this Sunday to take on cross-valley rivals Club Mandalay at 12:10 in a potentially season defining match.
It would be great to see a horde of Yarrambat Club members in their club shirts there to cheer on the team, and unnerve the opponents! Go Bats!!
