A “timely reminder” & thank you
Published on 15th August 2022 in UncategorizedMembers,
We would like to take the opportunity to thank you, the membership body, for the way in which you have embraced the introduction of Local Rule 5G – Pace of Play. The change to a two-tee start on Wednesday and Saturday has certainly assisted with the ‘flow’ and more players are now able to get on early and then still have time to spend with the family or do those chores around the house (but that’s not a reason to go backward!)
Members have been seen actively encouraging those in their group to pick it up, checking the App to see how they are travelling and using the 3 minute timer function, practice swings have reduced to an acceptable level, and members are moving to the next tee [in pairs] once they have holed out.
Well done all, and thank you.
Since the soft launch in July round times have dropped by an average of 20 minutes, with Mondays and Wednesday leading the way with average round times of 4:10 and 4:05 respectively.
Saturdays have had a few rounds off the ‘back blocks’, and Sundays are intermingled with public and social groups which have affected the averages – but there is certainly still room for improvement as both days are sitting on 4:20.
Only 8 groups out of 426 across the 6 weeks since 1 July have been sent a ‘friendly reminder’ and afforded an opportunity to explain, no player has appeared more than once on the ‘naughty list’ and no groups have been penalised.
Keep up the great work, and thank you for taking the tips and strategies on board and embracing the changes so willingly – the players around you all appreciate it.
Regards,
YGC Match Committee.
