McGrath & Prostate Foundations Fundraising Results

Under grey and threatening skies the YGC faithful gathered on Wednesday (all 51 of them) to raise funds for @mcgrathfoundation and @pcfa_oz for the first time since 2019! It wasn’t long before the day turned to 💩and the rain came, but with Mike on the BBQ (thanks to @matty_allen14 and @belgravialeisure) & John on raffle duty, the members persevered.

Bernie Merino had a day out with +8, and John Mitchell had an 🦅 on the 4th and plenty of snags were eaten (all for the cause!)

A great day with $1011.30 raised.

Saturday was looking like a non-starter as the State suffered severe flooding across Thursday and Friday and Rosanna, Kew. Heidelberg, Bundoora, Growling Frog and Mandalay Golf Courses all closed their doors as the courses were swamped, and roads in and out of many areas were cut.

Surprisingly, Yarrambat was spared the worst of the deluge, and whilst still wet, was still in remarkably good nick. (Which was then disappointing to see only 55 players turn out for the day)

A much tighter affair presented on Saturday with a few at the top putting in solid rounds, Chris L, Dan Bebbere, Jason Mullin and Peter Marsiglia ( silent ‘G’) all finishing in the ”Plus” column!

Wilso and Wardy manned the BBQ (well set-up by Matty Allen), ably assisted by John Cobbett, Jenny B and Peter Lowrey, whilst some (no names) tried to best their previous record double digit sausage consumption!

A great effort from all involved to raise $1125.95 on the day for a grand total of $2137.25.

Many thanks to the generous sponsors listed against the prizes below, and winner can collect their prizes from the Committee after Wednesday’s round.
