Upcoming AGM and an Apology
Published on 23rd July 2018 in UncategorizedYou should receive an email today informing you of the date of this year’s AGM.
Included will be nomination forms for all committee positions and proxy forms for those who wish to appoint another person to vote on their behalf.
You are encouraged to nominate for any position on the committee where you feel you can contribute to the life of the Club.
Ross McDonald, after some years as Junior Coordinator, during which he did an outstanding job, feels it is time for someone with fresh enthusiasm to take over this role. If you have an interest in taking this on, please put in your nomination.
I would also like to encourage our lady members to consider nominating – it is fitting that the composition of the committee represents the composition of our members.
Finally, an apology. I am scheduled for hand surgery later this week and may not be around the club much in the lead-up to the AGM, depending upon whether I require follow-up surgery.
With this in mind, approached a number of members about a week ago, asking them whether they would be attending the AGM and if not, whether they wanted me to act as their proxy.
One member (who will be attending the AGM), pointed out that I was jumping the gun, given that the AGM had not been announced.
On reflection, he was quite correct and I apologize for not thinking this through.
If anybody who asked me to be their proxy wishes to withdraw this request, I will gladly return their form.
Let me stress again that anybody who wishes to take on a committee role and particularly the President’s role, should nominate.
Gavin Pearce, President
