Now where have I seen this before….?

Could there be a back bencher with an axe to grind in the wings…?’
Please, before I get howls of protest from certain quarters, let’s chill out and see the humor in the uncanny similarities!
Referring to Stuart’s web post of the 23 August, my advice from a retired lawyer is that ‘the Registrar would NOT approve a Rule change to limit the number of proxies held by one person.’
Our Rules mirror the model Rules and it is my experience, from going through this process with another Association, that the Registrar is loath to accept changes to these Rules, particularly anything which may conflict with a member’s right to vote, (which would be illegal).
Stuart further states that I have cast a slur on our Secretary. My actual statement was that ‘I just have’ noticed the Special resolutions. That is totally accurate.
I have now triple-checked my emails and cannot find the original email sent out on the 6th. I asked John Ward to confirm that my name was on the mailing list and he has provided a screen shot which shows my name.
If you attended the Club this weekend, you would have noticed that the nominations were finally posted on the noticeboard and there are two candidates for the office of President, Stuart and myself.
That is a good outcome, as members now have a clear choice and you will no longer need to suffer through these interminable web postings!
See many of you on Tuesday.
Gavin Pearce, President
