Members,

Once again today a number of members raised the issue that;

• Monday bookings are hard to get, 
• You can’t book on a Monday,
• I can never get in on a  Monday,
• Why is there a gap between 8:40 and 9:30?
• Why are their ladies in our comp times?  etc etc etc…

I draw your attention to the posting of October 24 -(just before Cup weekend) when members were saying that they couldn’t get a booking,..

At the request of the YGC Committee, Belgravia management went to great lengths to extend the bookings and increase the spots available to YGC members – creating an extra 20 spots – with absolutely no commercial benefit to them – only for half the field to withdraw in the days before, decimating the booking sheet. This included many of those members who had been very vocal in their dissatisfaction with the available booking arrangements and, unfortunately, this has damaged our relationship with Course Management.

At this time, for the reasons stated above, I am reluctant to approach Belgravia to create slots additional to those already available. There are already 28 booking spots between 8:40 and 9:30 available to the public and Belgravia members to use.

As a Club and individuals, we must consider the whole picture – and all those others who pay their money to play golf at Yarrambat Park Golf Course.  

I will re-iterate the process for who haven’t been able to secure a Monday booking, and may not be content to wait on the waiting list:

1. Download the Yarrambat Park Golf Course mobile booking application – “Quick18”  for iPhone or Android onto your tablet or phone (if you need assistance please ask)
2. Register and log in.
3. Check the available time slots – you may be sharing with others, but if there’s another Club member to score your card that’s ok – and it’s nice to meet new people 
4. Book a round on the selected Monday (for yourself and playing partners if so desired) at a time between 8:40 and 9:30 AM (if it shows less than $33 it is the back 9 only) or book for later in the day (after 9:51)
5. If your pay your green fees through a 5 or 7 day package with Belgravia – select “Member’s rate $0.00” otherwise book for 1 and pay by card.
6. Share the booking with your playing group
7. Approach the Pro Shop staff and politely request they transfer your Quick 18 booking time/group  to the Competition field
8. If you have booked for 4 at the Member’s rate, but have not advised the Pro Shop of other names – the empty spaces will appear for other members into which they may book.
9. Go play golf.

I hope that this gives some guidance as to how to enter the Monday Comp if you have missed out on a booking on the Saturday night, closes the chapter on Monday booking issues and helps us all appreciate the value of maintaining solid relationships with all the stakeholders involved in the course on which we play.
