Members,

The Committee appreciate that not all members are available to attend the Club Presentation Day on Saturday 22 December due to competing commitments and indeed it is a rarity for every member of any club to be available to attend a set function.

There will be a free barbecue on Wednesday 19th December 2018, staffed by your volunteer Committee members;  with sausages and burgers (onions either on top or bottom – your choice!) available before, during or after your round – from about 7:45 AM.

In the spirit of Christmas, a donation bucket will also be made available to make donations to the Belgravia Foundation. This foundation is aimed at helping people overcome barriers to participation in sports and exercise (autistic children, carers, adults with mental illness and those with early onset dementia for example).

The format of Wednesday’s competition is an unseeded Ambrose –

• each player must play a minimum 3 drives (nominated on card)
• once the preferred ball is selected all other balls are played within ONE hand-span
• if the preferred ball is in a bunker or hazard – all balls must be played from the same condition
• this format continues until the ball is holed
• for groups of less than 4 – ONE extra putt (per group) & by any player is permitted
• pace of play – please be ready to play when it is your turn, and keep up with the group in front
• should your group achieve an NTP – all players in the group will be awarded a ball

An unseeded format was chosen for this particular event as, in previous years, a great deal of time and effort was spent to seed the mid-week competition, only to see multiple withdrawals and numerous complaints that members only wanted to play with their usual group.

The booking sheet will be locked at 5:30 pm on Tuesday evening and team cards will be pre-printed – please check the pile on the table for your group’s card.  The group low marker will be the designated Team Captain.

We hope that everyone enjoys their round, and a reminder that bookings for Presentation Day on 22 December will close at 5:00 pm on Wednesday, we look forward to seeing you there!
