Twilight Tuesday Hole in One

Published on 29th January 2019 in Uncategorized

Tuesday’s Twilight Chicken run competition has produced it’s first hole in one.

On a balmy Tuesday evening Scott Weston, Mark Jones, young Dainton Rowbotham and I were making our way around the back 9 off the Blue markers, with a stiff, but inconsistent, breeze testing our patience.

Scotty was driving long bombs, Dainton had a huge power fade going off the tee – keeping up with the low markers, I was punching it low & down the middle and Jonesy was getting up there, but his short game was scratchy.

After wiping the 15th Jonesy stepped up to the 16th; Scotty had already put his in the right trap, I was off 20 metres off the back and Dainton was to come up short of the water.

“I just need one good shot fellas!” said Jonesy as he stepped up to the tee; with a 4 iron in hand he tested the breeze and launched one high in the air…..

“I think it’s in the water!” said Jonesy

“it’s gotta go!” I said

The ball landed 2 feet on the green and released toward the hole… it kept rolling slowly across the green and Scotty said “Go, Go!”

It looked like it had stopped agonisingly short…… and then it disappeared!

High fives aplenty and hollering reverberated across the course!

Congratulations Mark – two holes-in-one 5 years apart on the same hole – and both with Scott in your group (and no you can’t stuff him in your bag!)
