Club Championships commence this Saturday
Published on 12th November 2021 in UncategorizedMembers,
Be sure to bring your best game to the course on Saturday – Round 1 (of 4) of the Club Championships commences this week.
The format for the Championship is 4 rounds of stroke play (off the full course) – with Nett Champions being awarded in A, B & C grades and the Club Champion returning the best total gross score over the 4 rounds.
Grades are based upon handicaps from Round 1 – so whatever handicap you hold on Round 1 will be your grade. Daily handicap apply to each subsequent round.
Open – scratch
A Grade +8 – 12
B Grade 13 – 19
C Grade 20+
To coincide with the start of Club Championships, we return to ‘normal golf conditions
- flags can be taken out (if necessary) and the foam will be gone – be mindful this can impact pace of play, so if you want the flag left in, perhaps putt first.
- bunker rakes will be returned – meaning there will be no preferred lies in bunkers – so please rake the bunker properly and enter exit from the lowest point – don’t leave footprints up the face!
- sand buckets (public) will also return.
Temporary local rule #1: (Preferred lies rescinded from 21 November) revert to “Play it as it lies” unless another rule applies
** Pennant invitations will be extended after the conclusion of the Club Championships,
Any member not fully financial before the start of the first round – 6:30 AM (20/11/21) – will be ineligible to win any section of the Club Championships, and will not be eligible to win or place in any daily event until financial. Further reminders will not be sent.
If you have paid your annual subscription late, please ensure that a copy/photo of your transaction record is sent to the YGC Secretary email before the start of play on Saturday. Members not financial by 20 November will have their access to bookings and website suspended.
Best of luck to all members,
