Round 4 WHITTLESEA
The Red team had quite a mixed bag of results at Whittlesea when we played Rosanna Green, came away with 3 wins and 5 losses. All players did their best as usual but sadly we didn’t get a better outcome.
A couple of Whittlesea members were overheard (after the 2nd round at YGC during lunch) commenting that WGC had greatly improved and was in really good condition, but I think we’d all have to disagree, the fairways are still cracked and patchy, an odd species of minute fluffy clover is all over the place on approach to most greens and each green is in need of attention. After playing at YGC all this makes golfing very difficult indeed. No excuses for the loss but a true reflection in relation to condition of course. Thank you to the 2 players from our other Pennant teams for filling in (especially since they both won their matches).
Round 5 BOX HILL
We had great weather at Box Hill, it was a really beautiful day, and I’m sure everyone was looking forward to playing on such a well-managed course. Unfortunately, once again, we didn’t come home with a win as we had hoped. This week we had only 2 wins and 6 losses against Rosanna Blue, everyone fought really hard but not the outcome we would prefer.
This leaves us in the wrong section on the ladder for this season. I believe that we can still pull it all together to do a great job in the final round against Rosanna White playing Stableford and end with a great score. Well done to RED team great effort this season.

Week 5 saw the continued improvement of the Blue team but unfortunately we have just run out of runway. We ended up squaring our contest with Rosanna Green, the top side in our division, who had won all 4 of their previous matches.
Two great fighting wins from Vas and Ian while Neil and David were in total control of their matches which allowed them to make early calls of Dormie. The other games were largely close affairs but we just couldn’t get that ounce of luck to tip us into the winner’s circle.
Another magnificent lunch with the traditional parma in magnificent club rooms (still not quite up to Jas’s efforts though.)
We missed out on making it into the playoff for the pennant this year but on the bright side we did qualify for the final for the Plate and given our up-tick in form we are among the favourites to bring the plate home again.
Looking forward to our final engagement for the 2022 senior pennant season
