Local Rule 5G ‘Pace of Play’

Published on 9th July 2022 in Uncategorized
Members,

The fundamentals of Local Rule 5G are not new, nor earth-shattering, and if the following simple steps are followed, a breach of the Local Rule would be unlikely to occur.

1. Keep up with the group in front

2. Play ‘Ready Golf’ where possible

3. Be aware of your round time (as shown on the MiScore App or scorecard)
     – Expected round time is 4hrs 10 min.

4. Adhere to your tee time.
     – You must not tee off early as this will create bottlenecks
     – If you tee off early or too late, there are established penalties under the rules of golf.

5. A group or player will be considered slow if:
     – Total round time exceeds 4hrs 24 minutescombined with
     – the group or player finishing 18 minutes or more behind the group immediately in front, or
     – If a group is the first group, or has an empty group ahead of them, and finishes in more than 4 hrs 20 minutes.
NB *’Total round time’ is taken from the group’s listed tee time to the earliest submitted score for the group.

6. All reasonable factors and explanations will be considered when assessing any potential breach of Local Rule 5G

7. If you start 10 minutes behind the group ahead, you should aim to finish 10 minutes behind them.
