YGC Update
Published on 5th October 2022 in UncategorizedMembers,
My apologies for the delay with a summary of the AGM – it’s been a busy few weeks and our new Secretary was struck down with a nasty ‘flu which has delayed the production of the minutes!
AGM: Summary update.
September 17th saw a washed out golf day before an uneventful AGM, attended by close to 40 members, that progressed fairly smoothly.
Your Committee were returned to their roles, with John Ward stepping down as Secretary and moving to the VP position, and Jenny Bernhardt has stepped back from VP and up to the Secretary’s role. I am sure we will all support Jenny in this demanding position.
My personal thanks to JW who has been a club stalwart over the last 4 years as Secretary, and when added to his previous stint of 3 years as well as general committee roles – he has given more than is required of a club member! Thank your John.
My thanks to my number 2 Jenny B over the last 4 years as VP – she has done a power of work in the background securing funding grants, keeping the committee in line and on track and assisting with the senior pennant. Out of the frying pan and into the fire as they say!
The Club is in a sound position, with growing membership and solid financials, as presented by Treasurer Mark H in the Annual Report & as a result club membership fees will remain unchanged this year.
The minutes will be published as soon as Jenny is back to full speed.
Recent results;
The Midweek Eclectic was won by Eric Meachem – who scored an outstanding nett 56, with only 6 holes where he didn’t score birdie or better, to beat Gary Phillips by 2 strokes.
