New members

Good morning YGC faithful,

Over the last few months we have seen quite a few new members joining the club (some are under 40 and could be mistaken by some for ‘public blow-ins’  hey Alex!)

If you do find a new member in your group, introduce yourself and be an ambassador for the Club.

Remember that a new member, who is yet to obtain a handicap, cannot score anyone in your group, but one of your group will need to score them – on a card please, not the App.

Check your group to make sure you are paired with at least one other handicapped member to score your round, and ideally an established member, so the rules and local rules can be conveyed clearly.

New members, getting their handicap,  cannot score more than double bogey on a hole and must pick out at the point (regardless of comp type).

And a reminder for everyone else, whether playing stableford or par – once you are out – pick up (don’t pick up in a stroke event!)

We have seen far too many 7’s, 8’s, 9’s and 10’s in stableford cards (on par 3s and 4s!!) which is adversely affecting pace of play.

Enjoy your golf, and I’ll see you all in 3 weeks when I’m back from my Thailand golf oddessy!

Regards,

Stuart
